At a loss for words.
I’ll put it simply: since the news broke that 19 children and 2 adults were senselessly murdered in Texas haven’t been able to focus on much else. I feel even selfish talking about my feelings of grief but they are real and there. The last three days I’ve felt like I can’t catch my breath. If you’re also feeling this tragedy deeply, don’t hold back, feel your feelings, get it out. I’m here crying daily with you. And if you’re not, that makes sense too because we are all collectively numb to these horrific acts, because they are a part of our DAILY lives. Which is disturbing in itself.
I had plans for a great newsletter this week but it wasn’t in the cards. I was planing to tell you all about the amazing, fall off the bone, EASY chicken wings I made earlier in the week. But I promise you, you’ll hear about them next week. They are from that cookbook I mentioned last week: KEEPERS by Caroline Campion and Kathy Brennan. You’ll need chicken wings, white vinegar, soy sauce, garlic and option coconut milk. They are fantastic and I look forward to sharing them with you.
Have a wonderful holiday weekend. XO Olivia
